Dilapidation Surveys & Reports

A dilapidation survey is a visual inspection of a property, identifying and noting damage due to structural movement. A detailed Dilapidation Report is then compiled listing all observations made together with a record of photographic evidence.

Dilapidation Reports are generally a requirement of the Development Application Consent to be undertaken by the owner of the proposed development regarding assessing the condition of the neighbouring properties and completed prior to the commencement of construction work. Such reports must be compiled and signed off by a  registered structural engineer as requested by the consent authority.

The ideology of these reports is to legally and mutually protect the development party and adjacent neighbouring parties from damage or alleged damage that may occur to adjacent properties as a result of structural movement or vibration due to the proposed construction.

Dilapidation Reports save the argument for all parties!

We have compiled hundreds of Dilapidation Reports on residential, commercial and industrial properties, council assets and infrastructure.

Our surveys & reports are undertaken by registered Structural engineers, members of The Institution of Engineers Australia, strictly conforming to engineering principles, resulting in exact damage location identification and description in accordance with the criteria of Table C1 & C2 of AS2870-2011.
